屈斜路湖のほとりの露天風呂。秘湯として知られるコタンの湯は、広々とした湖に面した石造りの湯船。地元の方による清掃が行き届き、とても清潔です。男女別の脱衣所も設けられていますから、着替えをするのも安心。ただし湯船は、真ん中の大きな岩が男女を分けていますが、基本的には混浴と同義。そのため、水着の着用やタオルを巻いての入浴もOKです。お風呂の水面は湖面とほぼ同じ高さ。冬には目の前に白鳥たちが浮かび、さながら白鳥と混浴しているかのよう。また、湖が金色に染まる黄昏時は、誰もが息を飲むほどの美しさです。数多くの雑誌、テレビで取り上げられてきたコタン温泉。ぜひ一度は入浴したい、絶景露天風呂です。
An open-air bath on the shores of Lake Kussharo. Known as a secret hot spring, Kotan no Yu is a stone bathtub facing a spacious lake. The cleaning by the locals is thorough and very clean. There are also separate changing rooms for men and women, so you can rest easy when changing clothes. However, the bath is basically synonymous with mixed bathing, although the large rock in the middle separates the men and women. Therefore, it is OK to wear a bathing suit or wrap a towel in the bath.The water surface of the bath is almost the same height as the lake surface. In winter, the swans float in front of you, and it's as if you're bathing with them. Also, at dusk when the lake turns golden, it is so beautiful that it will take your breath away.
